Job summary

Centre City Shopping Centre in New Plymouth is seeking a Casual Events Assistant to support marketing campaigns, community events, promotions and centre activations throughout the year. The role suits someone who enjoys working with people in a fast‑paced retail environment and is seeking flexible casual hours.

You will work with the Marketing Manager to plan and deliver events that enhance the customer experience and drive engagement. Flexible weekend/evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence engaging with customers, retailers, and suppliers.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends, school holidays, evenings and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set‑up and pack‑down of events, displays and promotional activities.
• Provide exceptional customer service during events and activations.
• Support delivery of marketing campaigns and community initiatives.
• Assist with retailer and supplier communications as required.
• Help maintain presentation standards across event and promotional areas.
• Capture content for social media and marketing purposes.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety requirements.
