Job summary

Jensen Hughes in Auckland is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer for a full-time, on-site role. You will lead projects, work directly with clients, and solve complex fire safety challenges on diverse assignments.

You will get out on site, mentor junior engineers and help shape the future of fire engineering in New Zealand, with opportunities to influence across our global network. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; a Masters in Fire Engineering and NZ Building Code experience are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Masters in Fire Engineering is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant fire safety standards.
• Excellent communication and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide key technical input and leadership on fire safety engineering projects from inception through to completion.
• Develop and assess fire engineering solutions that meet NZ Building Code requirements and standards.
• Work directly with clients and project teams to understand challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Explain technical concepts to clients and project stakeholders.
• Participate in site inspections, construction inspections and final inspections.
• Mentor developing engineers and collaborate with the wider Jensen Hughes team.
