Job summary

English Language Partners New Zealand (ELPNZ) is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead our finance operations as a Finance Operations Manager in Wellington. You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and provide clear, practical insights to support decision-making.

As a Chartered Accountant with at least seven years in accounting and finance, you will drive month-end and year-end processes, manage audits, and oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis,

Qualifications

• CA ANZ or equivalent professional accounting designation.
• Tertiary degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• At least seven years of accounting and finance experience.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, management accounting, forecasting and analysis.
• Experience leading month-end and year-end processes, audits and compliance.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and quality oversight within a finance team.
• Strong communication and ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
• Prepare and review management reports, financial analysis and forecasting.
• Support budgeting, financial planning and modelling.
• Lead annual financial statements and external audit processes.
• Oversee compliance, statutory reporting and funding-related requirements.
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Prepare financial reporting for the Board and Finance & Audit Committee.
• Monitor organisational performance, funding utilisation and financial sustainability.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, controls and reporting.
• Provide technical accounting leadership and support the finance team development.
