Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

At Halter, we don't just "do" finance; we build the engine that powers our global growth. We are looking for a Finance Manager who is as comfortable in the weeds of a Tier 1 ERP as they are in the boardroom. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit in the back office, you'll be a key navigator as we charge forward toward our mission.

You’ll lead a high-performing team to ensure our financial foundations are rock-solid, our risks are managed, and our strategic decisions are backed by razor-sharp insights.

You will be doing:

  • Driving the operational engine. You’ll own the daily heartbeat of our finance function. From overseeing AP/AR and payroll to managing our treasury, you ensure the gears keep turning. Your goal? A month-end close so accurate and timely it could set a world record.
  • Automation architecture. Design and implement end-to-end automated workflows across the finance function. Your baseline assumption: if a human is doing it repeatedly, a system should be doing it instead. Hunt for every opportunity to take manual work off the table.
  • AI-powered finance ops. Champion the adoption of AI-driven financial tools, from anomaly detection and forecasting models to intelligent reporting. Evaluate, pilot, and embed solutions that keep Halter ahead of the curve. We don't do manual work if a machine can do it better, and you’ll be the one making sure it doesn't.
  • Strategic advisory & insights. You aren't just reporting on the past; you're helping us build the future. You’ll provide the data-driven "so what" to senior leadership, identifying cost-reduction opportunities and guiding long-term business decisions that move the needle.
  • Safeguarding the growth. As we scale globally, you’ll be the architect of our internal controls. You’ll implement the systems and processes needed to safeguard our assets and manage risk across international borders.
  • Leadership & mentorship. Lead, mentor, and inspire our finance staff. Build a culture where automation curiosity is celebrated, continuous improvement is the norm, and "we've always done it this way" is a red flag, not a justification.

Who you are:

  • The ERP Expert (or Enthusiast): You ideally have 3+ years of experience managing inventory in a Tier 1 ERP (NetSuite is our favorite, but SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics are great too).
  • The Fast Learner: If you don't know our specific system yet, you're the type of person who rolls up their sleeves and masters it by the end of week one.
  • The High-Performer: You thrive in fast-paced environments. "Good enough" isn't in your vocabulary; you're driven by accuracy and impact.
  • The Strategic Thinker: You see the story behind the spreadsheets and can communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance people with ease.
  • The Team Player: You're ready to join a team that works hard, laughs often, and is obsessed with achieving Halter's mission.

Join our team

Halter is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace — a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and under‑represented groups of candidates tend to only apply when they meet every requirement. You'll be thrown into the deep end, tackling complex challenges and building something tangible that solves real problems.
  • You’ll grow here. Autonomy, mastery, and learning define how we work. You'll have the freedom to work on interesting problems, master new skills, and continuously develop yourself, both through your role and our $1,000 personal growth fund.
  • This isn't easy, and we love that it's hard. Working at Halter will be the most rewarding and the most challenging work of your life.
