Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Christchurch seeks a technical or trade-trained field service technician to support medical imaging systems such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Nuclear medicine. Based in Christchurch, you will travel across NZ and overseas, perform preventive maintenance, updates, installations, and repairs, and work with stakeholders to ensure timely service delivery.

Some after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will be technical or trade trained.
• Must be confident working autonomously.
• NZ Electrical Service Technician registration is desirable.
• Radiation licence is advantageous.
• Unrestricted driver’s licence required.
• Ability to travel across NZ and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, updates, upgrades, corrective service and installations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery.
• Complete service reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain and expand knowledge through training, including self-learning and mentorship.
• Adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety policies.

Job description

Great opportunity for somebody with a background in electrical, electronic, mechanical, avionics or biomedical looking to work on cutting-edge technology.

This role offers a unique blend of hands-on training locally in Australia and internationally, empowering you with knowledge and skills. We have a range of products across our Medical Imaging systems including but not limited to CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray and Nuclear medicine.

This role will be based in Christchurch and will primarily support customers throughout the lower North Island. You will also work closely with the Southern New Zealand team to help deliver exceptional technical support and service across the region.

This role will be 5 days per week, including at least 1 weekend day and 4 weekdays. We’re also open to discussing flexible hours or shift arrangements.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Performing preventative maintenance, updates, upgrades, corrective service, and installations
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery.
• Timely completion of Service Reports
• Maintaining and expanding your knowledge through continuous training, including self‑learning, computer‑based courses, mentorship and hands‑on experience
• Adhering to all Environmental, Health & Safety policies

Your qualifications and experience:

• The successful candidate will be technical or trade trained
• Have the confidence to work autonomously
• Having current NZ Electrical Service Technician’s electrical registration will be viewed favourably, otherwise you must meet the criteria to obtain one expeditiously.
• A Radiation licence will be considered advantageous, although this can be applied for with the support of the Company.
• Unrestricted drivers licence
• Able to travel across NZ and overseas.
• Work rights in New Zealand

The successful candidate may be required to participate afterhours to meet operational requirements.
