Job summary

Farmlands Taihape store is seeking a part-time Retail Assistant to join our team. You will deliver friendly customer service, help shareholders with product knowledge, and operate the store POS system. This role involves light admin tasks and stock replenishment.

The ideal candidate has experience in retail or farming-related sales, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage with a diverse customer base. The role offers a supportive team in a busy rural store environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in farming sector preferred.
• Strong customer focus and ability to engage with a range of customers.
• Retail or service industry experience in fast-paced environments is beneficial.
• Comfort with using POS systems and basic admin tools.
• Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Provide retail sales and customer service to shareholders.
• Advise customers on sheep/beef, dry stock and general agricultural products.
• Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Complete administrative tasks such as ordering and receipting stock.
• Restock and display products.
