Job summary

Reliance Recruitment Christchurch is seeking an experienced Timber Machinist to join a busy timber processing operation. This hands-on role focuses on timber machining and tool setting to keep planing machinery running safely and efficiently.

You will set up and operate machinery, adjust tooling and cutterheads, ensure products meet quality specs, and contribute to routine maintenance while maintaining a safe, fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in timber machining is essential.
• Experience with tool setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to work at pace while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Strong focus on health and safety in a busy production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate timber planing and processing machinery.
• Set and adjust tooling, cutterheads, blades and machine parameters.
• Ensure timber products meet required quality and size specifications.
• Carry out tooling changes and assist with routine machine maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
• Keep up with production demands in a fast-paced environment.
