Job summary

Better Trade Solutions Ltd in Invercargill, South Island invites experienced carpenters for permanent roles on commercial, civil and residential projects across the Southland region.

You will perform general carpentry, interpret plans, prepare foundations and formwork, erect framing and linings, and ready buildings for inspections. Trade qualification or 3+ years' experience required; own tools needed.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified with NZ level 4 certificate in Carpentry or overseas equivalent or at least 3 years of relevant construction experience.
• Be fit with a strong work ethic and good communication.
• Solid Health & Safety understanding for construction sites.
• Eligible to work in NZ and pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• All aspects of general carpentry.
• Interpret construction plans/working drawings.
• Prepare foundations, measure/cut/install formwork/falsework for reo and concrete.
• Erect timber framing, walls/roof trusses and fixings.
• Install internal and exterior linings.
• Prepare building for council inspections.
• Finish carpentry works including doors, windows and skirtings.
