Job summary

Unite Recruit is seeking experienced Carpenters to join construction projects across the Wellington region. You’ll be involved in foundations, framing, formwork, structural carpentry, fit-out and finishing work on residential, commercial, civil or infrastructure sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Carpenter.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and construction practices.
• Ability to read plans, drawings and measurements.

Responsibilities

• General carpentry and construction work.
• Foundation and subfloor construction.
• Setting out and preparing work areas.
• Framing, timber structures and structural carpentry.
• Formwork and concrete preparation.
• Installing doors, windows, cladding and other building components.
• Internal fit‑out and finishing carpentry.
• Measuring, cutting and installing timber and other materials.
• Reading and working from plans, drawings and specifications.
• Using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment.
• Completing repairs, alterations and remedial carpentry.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety.
