Job summary

Third Wheel Coffee Co. in Paihia is hiring an experienced barista ahead of the busy summer season. You will craft specialty coffee behind the machine, keeping cool during peak times, and help cover front-of-house as needed.

This is a full-time, seasonal-to-permanent role with 20-30 hours per week and shifts across opening hours. We value latte art, speed, food safety, and a genuine love for great coffee and service.

Qualifications

• Proven barista experience with strong, consistent latte art and quality control.
• Speed and composure during high-volume, high-pressure service.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Passion for good coffee, good food and great service.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting specialty coffee to a consistently high standard.
• Managing the coffee station efficiently during busy summer periods.
• Maintaining and cleaning equipment, and monitoring coffee/milk stock.
• Supporting front-of-house when needed – from taking orders to clearing dishes.
• Helping train casual summer baristas.
• Ensuring food safety and health & safety compliance at all times.

Third Wheel Coffee Co. is a small, cozy café tucked away in Paihia, known for our specialty coffee, home-baked treats, and strong connection with our regulars.

A little more on this exciting opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Barista to join our café team in Paihia ahead of the summer rush. You'll be behind the machine crafting the coffee we're known for, while keeping your cool when the queue's out the door. This is a Full-Time, seasonal-to-permanent role, 20-30 hours per week, with shifts across our opening hours (Mon-Fri 8am-2pm, Sat-Sun 8am-12pm). Weekend availability over summer is a must.
