Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand in Queenstown is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy crew. You will operate machinery safely on diverse projects, carry out excavation and earthworks, and work closely with ground crews to keep the job moving efficiently and safely.

Immediate start and weekly pay. You’ll need current WTR endorsements, a full NZ driver’s licence, the ability to pass pre-employment checks, and a solid understanding of site health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience.
• Current WTR endorsements.
• Full NZ driver licence.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests.
• Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out excavation and general earthworks.
• Complete trenching, backfilling and site preparation.
• Work around ground crews and other machinery.
• Follow site plans, levels and supervisor instructions.
• Perform pre-start and daily machinery checks.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain awareness of people and hazards around the machine.
• Assist with general site duties when required.
