Otago Polytechnic invites applications for a Beauty Therapy lecturer to join our Dunedin Campus. You will deliver engaging theory and practical teaching, guiding students through their learning journey and assessing progress using up-to-date technology.

The role emphasises creating an inclusive environment, mentoring learners, and collaborating with colleagues while independently running evening classes. Evening sessions are held Mon 3:00–8:00, Tue–Thu 4:00–8:00.

Qualifications

• A recognised Beauty Therapy qualification.
• Extensive experience working in industry as a Beauty Therapist.
• Ability to mentor ākonga.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners.
• Able to run evening classes independently.
• Collaborative team player.
• Sound health and safety practices.
• Tertiary teaching qualification would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging face-to-face theory and practical teaching.
• Guide and encourage ākonga throughout their learning journey.
• Assess learner progress, practical capability and use of relevant technology.
• Create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Help ākonga develop confidence, knowledge and professional skills.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues while independently leading evening classes.
• Evening classes run 3.00pm–8.00pm Mon; 4.00pm–8.00pm Tue–Thu.
