Job summary

Environment Southland invites applications for an Environmental Scientist Natural Hazards in Invercargill. You will manage complex studies, mentor team members, and contribute to mitigation and adaptation strategies through research, analysis and reporting in natural hazards.

Apply advanced modelling and geospatial analysis (GIS) to address critical hazards, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders. A master's or PhD plus 3 years' relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in natural hazard research, risk assessment or related fields.
• Ability to apply advanced modelling and analysis to hazard challenges.
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (R, Python, MATLAB).
