Job summary

Tyler Wren is recruiting for an Environment & Planning lawyer to join a premium commercial law firm in Sydney. You will advise on planning, environment, development and project matters across property, infrastructure, energy, resources, transport, healthcare, residential and commercial development.

The role combines advisory and disputes work, with exposure to approvals, regulatory issues, environmental compliance, and heritage and biodiversity matters.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an Environment & Planning practice, ideally from a top tier, international, national or respected boutique firm.
  • Exposure to planning and environment litigation.
  • Strong drafting, advisory and matter management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on planning, environmental and regulatory approval pathways.
  • Support major development, infrastructure, energy, resources and transport matters.
  • Assist with planning and environment litigation, including court proceedings.
  • Advise on contaminated land, environmental licensing, biodiversity and heritage issues.
  • Assist with compulsory acquisition, compliance and project delivery matters.
  • Negotiate planning agreements and liaise with government stakeholders.
  • Support transactional, advisory and contentious E&P work.
  • Contribute to client relationships, internal initiatives and business development.

About the Role

Join a well-regarded Environment and Planning team within a premium commercial law firm in Sydney. Working closely with senior practitioners, you will advise on a broad mix of planning, environment, development and project-related matters across sectors such as property, infrastructure, energy, resources, transport, healthcare, residential and commercial development.

The role will suit a lawyer who enjoys both advisory and disputes work, with exposure to approvals, regulatory issues, environmental compliance, planning agreements, compulsory acquisition, contaminated land, heritage, biodiversity and planning-related litigation. You will have the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, work directly with clients, and continue building your profile within a collaborative national team.
