Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) is seeking a passionate and experienced English teacher to support Buin High School in Bougainville. This 6–12 month assignment offers a unique opportunity to share your skills, build local capacity, and embrace a rich cultural experience.
You’ll work alongside motivated staff to improve students’ English proficiency—both written and spoken—by mentoring teachers and supporting classroom learning. Your contribution will help Buin High School achieve its long-term goal of raising national academic performance in English.
About Buin High School
Established in 1968, Buin High School is a respected boarding school in South Bougainville with 700 students and 34 staff. Despite challenges during and after the Bougainville Crisis, the school has become a leading institution in the region. VSA has partnered with Buin High School since 2018, supporting administration and finance, and now seeks to strengthen English education.
