Job summary

Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking an Engagement Advisor to strengthen trust and confidence through inclusive and meaningful community engagement. You will plan, deliver and evaluate engagement activities across diverse projects, ensuring accessibility and alignment with the Engagement Framework, so communities have a genuine voice in decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement, stakeholder engagement, or communications.
• Understanding of IAP2 engagement principles and public participation methodologies.
• Strong written, verbal and facilitation skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engagement plans aligned with Council priorities and community outcomes.
• Collaborate with Communications Partners for integrated engagement approaches.
• Provide engagement advice and support across Council projects and business units.
• Build positive relationships with stakeholders, community groups, iwi and mana whenua.
• Coordinate engagement activities (workshops, public meetings, drop-in sessions, surveys, online).</
