Job summary

Auckland City Oriental West Limited is seeking an Asian Cuisine Cook to join our large-format buffet operation in Auckland, New Zealand. This role is in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen serving up to 340 guests in dining and 60 at bar.

You will prepare and assemble ingredients, cook according to recipes, monitor stock, ensure food safety, and help teammates to deliver orders on time. Weekend, holiday, and split shifts required.

Qualifications

• Certificate in cookery level 4 or minimum 2 years of professional cook experience (buffet/hotel experience preferred).
• Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of Asian cuisines (Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Prepare high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes.
• Store excess food at the correct temperature to avoid spoilage.
• Ensure that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.
• Monitor supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
• Ensure that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
• Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
• Assist other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
• Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.
• Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.

This is a high-volume, fast-pacedkitchen environment that will cater to up to 340 guests in the dining areaand60 guests at the bar.

• Job location/region: Auckland, New Zealand
• Number of positions for this job: 5
• Hours per week: minimum of 30 hours a week is guaranteed, maximumof 40 hours per week
• Hourly rate: $28 - $30
• Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items.
