Job summary

Te Roopu Taurima invites applications for Kaiawhina to join our RIDSAS residential service in Manukau. You will support tāngata with intellectual disabilities and complex needs in home and community settings, helping them build skills and live as independently as possible.

The role is hands-on within a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays. We value Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori, and provide a supportive, kaupapa Māori workplace with career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting tāngata with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health needs.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and teamwork skills.
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good computer literacy and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori or willingness to learn.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support tāngata to develop daily living skills and independence.
• Work rostered shifts in a 24-hour residential service.
• Assist with community participation and documentation.
• Collaborate with whānau and other professionals.

Education

NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or 4) or equivalent
