Job summary

New Plymouth Hospital in Taranaki is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. Permanent and fixed-term part-time positions are available across Monday to Sunday, with a dynamic team of doctors, nurse practitioners and educators supporting your development in emergency nursing.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of emergencies, ongoing training, and access to professional development in trauma, resuscitation, or triage.

Qualifications

• Emergency Department and/or acute care experience
• Current New Zealand Aotearoa nursing practicing certificate (APC)
• Desire to make a difference in the community
• A can do attitude
• Commitment to ongoing education to support excellence in emergency nursing
• Strong focus on patient assessment
• Experience training or developing others is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED
• Collaborate with doctors, nurse practitioners, and ED educators
• Assess, triage, and plan care for emergency presentations
• Contribute to ongoing professional development within the team
