About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an Anaesthetic Technician or Senior Nurse to step into an Anaesthetic Assistant -Education role. This is a part-time role for 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE) in the education role and the other 0.4 FTE is available if required in a clinical role. You will have responsibility for professional development of Anaesthetic Technician team in the Adult and Emergency (Surgical) operating room (OR) department, including teaching on and supporting development of those who are new to the Anaesthetic assistant role across the organisation, as well as contributing to hospital wide development and leadership of staff and patient focused initiatives.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Adult and emergency (surgical) OR `s are located on level 8 at ACH Grafton campus.
While the role provides support to all perioperative departments, you will primarily be based in the Adult and Emergency (Surgical) OR department, which is a trauma centre and provides acute and elective general surgery (including colorectal, breast and hepatobiliary), urology, vascular, orthopaedics, neurosurgery (adults and paediatrics), transplantation (kidney, liver and pancreas - adults and paediatrics) and is the National Liver transplant centre they also provide clot retrieval services for the North Island. The Anaesthetic Technicians / Nurses in this unit provide 24/7 cover to the operating theatres and other remote areas (anaesthetising sites) across Te Toka Tumai.
