Job summary

BestStart Dannemora in Auckland is looking for a Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for tamariki and support their growth and wellbeing. You will work in a friendly, well-organised kitchen, helping to provide great food for young children.

This permanent full-time role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We value a positive attitude, knowledge of food safety, budgeting skills and a passion for promoting healthy eating for children.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of kitchen health and safety with high hygiene standards.
• Strong time-management and organisational skills.
• Passion for cooking and baking.
• Understanding of food safety, allergies and dietary requirements.
• Computer literacy to design menus and place orders weekly.
• Ability to work within budgets for ordering food.
• Commitment to promoting healthy eating for young children.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, nutritious and delicious meals for tamariki.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious and delicious meals that support children’s growth, development and wellbeing.

If you enjoy creating tasty, balanced meals, take pride in keeping a clean and organised kitchen, and love being part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you. Experience in cooking, food preparation or an early childhood setting is preferred, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing great food for little people.

This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday

Role requirements::

• Knowledge around health and safety in the kitchen and set high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
• Strong time-management and organisational skills.

• Be computer literate in order to design menus and place orders each week
• The ability to remain within the budgets for ordering food
