Job summary

Westroads NZ on the West Coast Greymouth is seeking a Drainage Excavator Operator to join our civil construction team. You will operate excavators across drainage, stormwater, and utility projects, reading plans and working safely.

You will be part of a practical team that values safety, quality outcomes and ongoing training, with opportunities to contribute ideas and take ownership of your work.

Qualifications

• Proven excavator operating experience in civil construction, drainage or utilities.
• Current NZ Driver Licence.
• WTR endorsements.
• Sound understanding of safe excavation and underground service protection.
• Reliable, accountable and team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and attachments safely and efficiently.
• Complete trenching, precision excavation, backfilling and reinstatement.
• Work safely around underground services using approved excavation methods.
• Support installation, renewal, maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure.
• Read and work from plans and survey information.
• Complete daily plant inspections and report faults.
