Job summary

Petstock Hastings NZ is seeking a professional Dog Groomer to deliver full grooming services across a range of breeds, ensuring a safe, positive experience for pets and their owners. You will coordinate with the Store Manager, manage bookings, and contribute to salon presentation and stock control.

The role requires salon experience or grooming certification, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional dog grooming
• Qualification in Grooming preferred
• Ability to embed strong safety practices throughout the salon and store
• Good knowledge of breed clips and grooming styles
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy animals
• Experience handling live animals
• Understanding of zoonotic and skin diseases
• Proven ability to exceed grooming KPIs through care and customer satisfaction
• Excellent communication with customers and team

Responsibilities

• Provide full grooming services for a variety of breeds, including bathing, drying, nail clipping, brushing, combing and clipping
• Provide a positive and memorable grooming experience for all customers and their dogs
• Coordinate the grooming salon and clients with the Store Manager
• Make client bookings
• Assist store team with exceptional customer service
• Maintain high salon presentation and oversee stock management
• Support sales targets and local marketing initiatives

Do you have the below experience and looking to take the next step in your career?

• Experience in professional dog grooming
• Qualification in Grooming preferred

A Peek Into Your Petstock Day

• Provide full grooming services for a variety of breeds, including bathing, drying, nail clipping, brushing, combing and both generic and breed-specific clipping
• Provide a positive and memorable grooming experience for all customers and their dogs
• Coordinate the grooming salon and clients in conjunction with the Store Manager
• Make client bookings
• Assist store shop floor team when required, providing exceptional customer service where you and your customer will have memorable, meaningful interactions
• Maintain a consistently high standard of salon presentation and oversee stock management
• Work with the Store Manager and team to ensure member program targets and expectations are consistently met
• Proactively support local marketing opportunities and recruitment referral programs
• Work with the team to achieve and exceed sales targets
• Maintain a strong safety mindset with commitment to create a culture of safety within your team

Position: Dog Groomer

• Hours: Full Time - 40 hours
• Location: Hastings NZ
• Salary Range: $25 - $30 PH (based on skills and experience)
• Experience/Qualifications/Requirements: Salon experience and or certificate and references from grooming academy or course
