Job summary

Northpower in Auckland is seeking a Distribution Line Mechanic for a permanent role. You will build, maintain and restore the power network, working on overhead lines up to 33kV and supporting critical infrastructure projects. EWRB-registered with a strong safety mindset is required.

About the Role:

Minimum hours per week is 40

Hourly rate – $40 - $42 p/hr

About the role:

To ensure the construction and maintenance of electrical lines to customer and Network requirements are met in a timely, appropriate and efficient manner.

• Building, servicing and maintaining overhead electrical lines up to 33kV
• Installing and replacing pole structures and conductors
• Operating equipment and completing field documentation
• Supporting performance targets with strong teamwork and problem-solving
• Ensuring safety, compliance and quality in every task

About You:

• Similar work experience preferred
• EWRB Registration as a Distribution Line Mechanic required
• Class 2 Driver's Licence (advantageous)
• Current Driver’s Licence required (Class 1 minimum)
• Experience in overhead lines work preferred
• Great attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to safety
• Physical capability to handle a hands-on role
