Job summary

Tranzit Group Ltd in Lower Hutt is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our busy workshop. You will service and repair diesel fleet vehicles, diagnose faults, and prepare units for COF inspections, working in a safety‑minded team with strong communication.

We value 5+ years' experience, full NZ Driver's Licence, and an eagerness to upskill. The role is full-time, 45 hours per week with an on-call roster, offering competitive pay, a fortnightly tool allowance, and MITO scholarship support.

We are seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our Lower Hutt workshop team. Our Hutt Valley fleet is primarily diesel vehicles, with potential for opportunities to work on emerging EV technology as our fleet continues to evolve. What will your day look like?

• Carrying out routine servicing and minor repairs to keep our fleet road ready.
• Preparing vehicles for COF inspections.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults.
• Ensuring all work meets high safety and quality standards.

We are looking for:

• A Qualified Diesel Mechanic with proven experience (5 years +), preferably within the road transport industry.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• A reliable team player with great communication.
• Full NZ driver's licence (Class 2 or higher preferred).
