Job summary

SourceIn in Auckland is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join the Operations Team and grow alongside experienced engineers. You will gain hands-on exposure to a wide range of real-world infrastructure and challenges, applying coding skills to automate workflows and build internal tools.

Ideal candidates have some scripting or programming experience (PHP, Python, Go or similar), solid Linux knowledge, and a keen interest in infrastructure, DevOps, and automation.

We're now looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our Operations Team and develop their career alongside experienced engineers.

About the role

This is a hands-on junior role where you'll get exposure to a wide range of real-world infrastructure and technical challenges.

You won't just be writing code — you'll use your programming skills to:

• Automate workflows and build internal tools
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Work with Linux environments and command-line tools
• Investigate server, networking, and performance issues
• Gain experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure
• Debug and improve systems and services
• Work with open-source tools and technologies
• Collaborate with experienced DevOps engineers and learn from the team
• Work directly with customers to resolve hosting and infrastructure problems

This is a great opportunity to build strong DevOps, systems, and software development skills while working on technology that is used by real customers every day.

About you

This is a junior position, so we don't expect you to know everything. What matters most is that you have a solid technical foundation, enjoy solving problems, and are genuinely motivated to learn.
