Job summary

ACG College invites applications for a Design & Technology Teacher to support Year 7–13 learners, delivering Cambridge International curriculum-aligned lessons and fostering practical problem-solving and creativity.

The role emphasizes hands-on workshop learning, technology integration, assessment, and pastoral care, with a commitment to student wellbeing and community participation. Term 1, 2027 start, full-time permanent position.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent.
• Candidate should hold New Zealand Teacher Registration.
• Undertake a New Zealand police check prior to commencing the position.
• Assist with duties including break time supervision.
• A willingness to attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching and assessment programs aligned with Cambridge International curriculum, college policies, and schemes of work.
• Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge and participate in ongoing professional development and performance review processes.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and effective learning environment that supports student achievement.
• Integrate educational technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality teaching resources, assessment materials, and learning activities.
• Assess and monitor student progress accurately, maintaining clear records and providing timely feedback.
• Set meaningful homework, projects, and extension activities to support independent learning.
• Manage student behaviour consistently while promoting high standards of conduct and wellbeing.
• Communicate professionally with parents and complete required administrative, attendance, and reporting responsibilities.
• Contribute to the wider life of the College through pastoral care, tutor responsibilities, Open Days, and school events.
