Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy, New Zealand's first online charter school, is expanding senior leadership with a Deputy Principal role to advance high standards in teaching. You will coach teachers, embed a shared theory of learning, and drive assessment for learning across a fully online setting.

Lead professional growth, induction for beginning teachers, and oversee certification endorsements while shaping PLD planning and school-wide improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading school-wide coaching cycles and online learning observations.
• Ability to embed theory of learning and assessment for learning schoolwide.
• Proven track record in professional growth and teacher development.
• Experience with induction programs for beginning teachers.
• Knowledge of Teaching Council certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Coaching. Run coaching cycles, live-session observations and walkthroughs of online learning.
• Theory of learning. Embed our school's theory of learning and assessment for learning practice schoolwide.
• Professional growth. Oversee the professional growth cycle and teaching as inquiry.
• Beginning teachers. Lead PCT induction, the mentor programme and release time.
• Staff PLD. Own the PLD plan, the staff meeting PLD calendar and teacher-only days.
• Certification. Manage Teaching Council certification endorsements and practicum liaison.
• PLD. Manage PLD plan, delivery and any external bookings Operations Manager.
