Job summary

Lumino Nelson is seeking a reliable Dental Assistant / Receptionist on a casual basis. You will support clinicians chairside and at reception, providing flexible, friendly service to patients in a welcoming practice.

The role offers variety, teamwork, and opportunities to develop dental industry skills in a supportive environment within New Zealand's leading dental organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous Dental Assistant experience preferred, although training can be provided for the right person.
• Experience in sterilisation, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing environment would be advantageous.
• A friendly, positive, and team-focused attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Confidence using computers and learning new systems.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for helping people and delivering great customer service.
• The flexibility to work casual shifts as required.
• Valid New Zealand working rights.
• You must live in Nelson or the surrounding area and be able to reliably commute to the practice when required.

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our supportive team at Lumino Nelson on a casual basis.

This is a varied role where you'll support our clinicians chairside while also assisting at reception when needed. It's an excellent opportunity to develop your dental industry skills while working in a welcoming and professional environment.

As a Dental Assistant, you will:

• Assist clinicians during a range of dental procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organised clinical environment.

As a Receptionist, you will:

• Be the welcoming face and voice of the practice.
• Manage patient enquiries both in person and over the phone.
• Coordinate appointments and booking schedules.
• Process payments and complete general administrative tasks.
• Help create an exceptional experience for every patient who visits the practice.
