Job summary

Lumino Feilding is seeking a friendly and reliable Dental Assistant to join our busy practice in Feilding. You’ll support dentists and hygienists, prepare rooms, maintain infection control, and help keep patient records and appointments running smoothly.

This full-time role offers Monday to Friday hours (8:15am–5:15pm) in a welcoming team, with training provided for the right candidate and opportunity to grow your dental career in a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Previous Dental Assistant or healthcare experience preferred, training may be provided
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Friendly, professional, empathetic approach to patient care
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Great attention to detail and infection control standards
• Team player with positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Valid New Zealand work rights

Hours:

• Monday-Friday : 8:15am to 5:15pm

As a Dental Assistant, your role will include:

• Assisting our dentists and hygienists during a range of dental procedures
• Providing chairside support and helping ensure patients feel comfortable throughout their visit
• Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
• Sterilising instruments and maintaining high standards of infection control
• Supporting patient arrivals and helping maintain accurate patient records
• Assisting with appointment scheduling and general administration when required
• Working closely with the wider practice team to help keep the day running smoothly

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

• Previous Dental Assistant or healthcare experience, although training can be provided for the right person
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A friendly, professional, and empathetic approach to patient care
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Great attention to detail
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety
