Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island Limited is seeking a friendly Part-Time Deli Assistant to join our busy Deli team in Invercargill. You’ll help prepare and present quality products while delivering great customer service in a fast-paced store setting.

This role offers on-the-job training, opportunities for growth and employee discounts, and a supportive team environment. A solid work ethic, reliability, teamwork and physical fitness are essential, with training provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or deli experience preferred, but full training is provided.
• Strong work ethic, efficiency and reliability.
• Excellent teamwork and initiative in a busy environment.
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Hours of Work (30 hours per week):

• Monday 5:00am – 1:00pm
• Tuesday 5:00am – 1:00pm
• Sunday 5:00am – 1:00pm

As a Deli Assistant, you'll play an important role in preparing and presenting quality products while creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. No two days are the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong work ethic and efficiency
• Excellent teamwork skills and initiative
• Ability to handle slicing, chopping, cooking, and cabinet presentation
• Honesty, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Physical fitness (this is a physical role with plenty of movement and occasional lifting involved)

Previous experience in a kitchen or deli is an advantage, but not essential – we’ll provide full training to the right person.
