Job summary

Market Management Limited – Cambridge, North Island is seeking a friendly Full-time Deli Assistant with a passion for food preparation to join our busy team.

You will prepare food, slice meat, keep the deli area stocked and well presented, and assist customers with product knowledge while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Reliable, team-oriented and able to lift reasonably heavy items; Tuesday–Saturday shifts apply, with adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in deli, supermarket, or food retail is preferred.
• Physically fit and able to lift reasonably heavy items.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items and cook/hear food as required.
• Slice meat and stock the deli area to keep it neat and presentable.
• Assist customers with product knowledge and provide high levels of service.

Our Deli team strives to deliver high quality fresh food & excellent customer service at all times

You will need to have a positive attitude, demonstrate excellent work ethics and be a responsible team player. You will be required to work at a good pace without constant supervision.

Your Deli role will include preparing food items, cooking & heating food, slicing meat, keeping the retail area stocked & well presented, assisting customers with product knowledge & maintain a high level of customer service.

Skills & Experience

• We are looking for someone with previous deli, supermarket, or food retail experience
• You must be Physically fit & able to lift reasonably heavy items
• Have a strong attention to detail
• Adhere to Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards
• You will need to have strong organizational and communication skills, show initiative, be able to prioritize your workload effectively to meet deadlines.

This will be a Tuesday – Saturday role
