Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Team Lead - Data Engineering to manage a high-performing team delivering the data platform that underpins launch operations, simulations, and ground systems. You will guide end-to-end data engineering across ingestion, storage, and presentation, emphasizing reliability and documentation.

Required are a software engineering background with 8+ years’ experience, strong Python, and experience shaping data platform architectures.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• 8+ years’ experience in software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical vision and lead a high-performing team of software engineers.
• Own end-to-end software development across infrastructure, storage, ingestion, and presentation of operational and engineering data.
• Design, develop, test, and document software used across launch operations, simulations, and ground systems.
• Drive architecture quality, coding standards, and agile practices; collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and mission teams.
