BraveGen is hiring a Data & Client Support Analyst to own data uploads, validation and quality checks. The role also provides back-up coverage for the Client Support Analyst, keeping the ticket queue moving during absences or peak periods.
You’ll be reviewing scheduled and ad hoc data uploads, verifying accuracy, and digging into root causes when data doesn’t look right. Hybrid hours with work-from-home flexibility support your best work.
Some people can't leave a spreadsheet alone until every row checks out. If that's you, keep reading.
BraveGen builds the software that large organisations across New Zealand and Australia use to measure their carbon emissions, manage their energy use and optimise their buildings. Our customers are the sustainability and property teams at some of Australasia's best-known companies. Behind every report they see, there's a data upload that had to be right first.
We're hiring a Data & Client Support Analyst to own that side of the desk. Most of your week is structured data work – uploads, validation, quality checks, the queue that keeps the platform accurate. You'll also be trained up as back-up cover for our Client Support Analyst, so when they're away or the ticket queue is under pressure, you can step in and keep things moving.
The job, honestly
Most days, you're working through scheduled and ad hoc data uploads – reviewing what's come in, checking it against what it should look like, catching the row that's wrong before it becomes someone else's problem downstream. Accuracy here isn't a nice-to-have – it's the job. A missed error doesn't stay small; it turns into a client's report showing the wrong numbers weeks later.
The other half of the skill is working out why something's gone wrong. An upload fails, or it goes through but the data on-screen doesn't look right – and there's rarely an obvious error message telling you what to fix. You need to be the kind of person who digs into the file, checks the formatting against what's expected, traces a number back through the system, and doesn't stop until you've found the actual cause, not just a workaround.
The rest of the role is back-up. When the Client Support Analyst needs cover, you'll pick up tickets – triaging, troubleshooting, following cases through rather than parking them.
If you get genuine satisfaction from a data set with zero errors in it, and you're the type who wants to know why something broke rather than just re-running it and hoping, you'll do well here.
Standard business hours, Monday to Friday, hybrid – with the flexibility to work from home when that helps you do your best work.
Get good at this and you’ve got two directions open: deeper into data and reporting, or across into full-time client support. We’d rather hire someone who wants to grow into one of those than someone looking to sit still.
