Job summary

Waipā District Council is seeking an experienced Corridor Access Coordinator to join our Transportation team and help keep the district's road network safe, accessible and moving.

You’ll coordinate corridor access and Temporary Traffic Management, review requests, schedule works with contractors and agencies, and monitor compliance and risk.

Qualifications

  • NZGTTM STMS Level 1 or equivalent is required.
  • Experience reviewing or auditing TTM in live traffic environments.
  • Strong understanding of risk and practical traffic management solutions.
  • Knowledge of NZGTTM and the Utilities Access Act.
  • Formal qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with digital systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver licence.

  • Reviewing and approving Corridor Access Requests, work permits and TTM arrangements.
  • Coordinating works, events and activities to minimise network disruption.
  • Working with contractors, utilities, NZTA and neighbouring councils.
  • Using the National Forward Works Programme Viewer to coordinate road space.
  • Inspecting reinstatement works and monitoring compliance and warranties.
  • Providing practical advice on risk, corridor access and TTM requirements.
  • Supporting wider transport operations, roading works and community events.

We’re looking for an experienced and practical Corridor Access Coordinator to join our Transportation team and help keep Waipā’s road network safe, accessible and moving.

With Waipā continuing to grow, this is an opportunity to play a key role in coordinating activities across our road corridors, balancing safety, compliance, network access and the needs of our communities.

About the role

You’ll support Council’s role as a Road Controlling Authority, managing corridor access and Temporary Traffic Management activities across the district.

On any given day, you’ll be:

  • Reviewing and approving Corridor Access Requests, work permits and TTM arrangements
  • Coordinating works, events and activities to minimise network disruption
  • Working with contractors, utilities, NZTA and neighbouring councils
  • Using the National Forward Works Programme Viewer to coordinate road space
  • Inspecting reinstatement works and monitoring compliance and warranties
  • Providing practical advice on risk, corridor access and TTM requirements
  • Supporting wider transport operations, roading works and community events

This role combines technical expertise, practical problem-solving and strong stakeholder relationships.

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in TTM, corridor operations, roading or transport coordination
  • Current STMS Level 1 or equivalent NZGTTM qualification
  • Experience reviewing or auditing TTM in live traffic environments
  • Strong understanding of risk and practical, compliant traffic management solutions
  • Knowledge of NZGTTM and the Utilities Access Act
  • Relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Competence with digital systems and Microsoft Office
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver licence
