Job summary

Summerset Milldale is opening a vibrant village and seeks a part-time Cook to join the team in a modern kitchen and dining environment. You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for residents, work Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday 8:00am–3:00pm, with training starting 21 September and interviews in late August.

This role focuses on safe, audit-ready kitchen practices under Summerset’s Food Control Plan, with opportunities to grow, gain culinary qualifications, and access benefits such as

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook, ideally in a healthcare or residential care setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards; Certification in safe food handling (preferred).
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking production meals for our care centre as well as short order meals for the café, based on established menus and dietary needs
• Maintaining an “audit-ready” kitchen by adhering to Summerset’s Food Control Plan
• Working collaboratively with kitchen staff, care teams and management to deliver an exceptional dining experience
• A part-time position working Friday and Saturday, or Sunday and Monday 8:00am to 3:00pm. Additional days and hours from February 2027

Job Description

We’re looking for a dedicated part timeCookto join our team at our Milldale Village. This is more than just a kitchen job — it’s a chance to be part of something meaningful, where every meal you prepare brings joy, comfort, and nourishment to the lives of our residents.

As a Cook, you will play an essential role in creating fresh, wholesome meals in a supportive and team-focused environment. Your work will help ensure our residents enjoy nutritious food that supports their health and wellbeing.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

The role will start on the 21st of September, starting with 2.5 weeks of full-time training and support. Interviews will take place at the end of August and first week of September.
