Job summary

Summerset Holdings in Taupo, Waikato, is seeking a dedicated Cook for Summerset by the Lake Village. This part-time role supports our residents by preparing fresh, wholesome meals and ensuring nutrition and wellbeing.

You will work 37 hours per fortnight, Friday to Sunday, 8am–5:30pm, in a team-focused kitchen that values safety and quality. Opportunities to grow and gain culinary qualifications are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook, ideally in a healthcare or residential care setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards; certification in safe food handling preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking production meals for care centre and café, following established menus and dietary needs.
• Maintaining an audit-ready kitchen by adhering to Summerset's Food Control Plan.
• Collaborating with kitchen staff, care teams and management to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
