About the Role

We are looking for a team-oriented radiologist who is committed to delivering excellent patient care,participating in service development, and supporting junior medical staff.Subspecialty interests are welcome and can be accommodated within the service.

As a Radiologist at Nelson Hospital,you will be an integral part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, deliveringhigh-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients across the NelsonMarlborough region. The role encompasses a broad range of modalities, includingGeneral radiology, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI with angiography and interventionalradiology - if required.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Nelson Marlborough provides radiologyservices across Nelson and Wairau Hospitals, supporting a population ofapproximately 150,000 people. The department is invested in having the latestequipment and technology, as well as fit for purpose facilities, including twoCT scanners, 1.5T MRI, modern ultrasound and fluoroscopy units, and fullydigital PACS and RIS systems. Theservice is highly collegial, with close collaboration between Radiologists,Medical Imaging Technologists, and other healthcare professionals. Thedepartment plays a key role in both acute and elective care, providing imagingsupport for surgical, medical, and oncology services.

Ourhospital is growing in specialists and there will be opportunities for thesuccessful applicant to introduce new technologies alongside this growth withintheir expertise.We maintain close connections with Christchurch Hospital,the South Island's largest tertiary centre, enabling collaboration with largerspecialist teams and access to subspecialty interventional and diagnostic workwhen appropriate. About you

The ideal applicant will:

  • Hold Fellow of the Royal Australian and NewZealand College of Radiologists, or equivalent.
  • Have postgraduate fellowship training(preferred).
  • Be eligible for an Annual PractisingCertificate with a vocational scope of Radiology with the Medical Councilof New Zealand.
  • Bring medical expertise and unique skill setto an acute secondary care hospital and contribute to advanced care of theacute patients in the region.
  • Ability to work independentlyas a specialist in a provincial district.
  • Work with others to promote acohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, andrespect across disciplines.
