Job summary

Capital & Coast District Health Board invites applications for a Consultant Ophthalmologist to provide care focused on Medical Retinal Ophthalmology at Wellington region hospitals. The role includes involvement in OPD clinics and theatre sessions, with teaching and supervision of RMOs and nursing staff.

The successful candidate will work within a dynamic Ophthalmology Department serving Wellington, Kapiti, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa, participate in meetings, audits and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Vocationally registered in Ophthalmology with MCNZ.
• FRANZCO or equivalent qualification.
• Strong clinical skillset with an interest in Medical Retinal Ophthalmology.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Cataract surgery and Medical Retinal clinic sessions.
• Participate in service and clinical meetings.
• Engage in quality improvement activities and clinical audits.
• Supervision and training of RMOs.
• Participate in general on-call roster.
