Job description

Seeking a consultant nephrologist for a full time 100% nephrology job in a general hospital just 30 minutes flight from Auckland.

Position Highlights:

• Permanent full time contract with a 260 bed public sector hospital
• 40 hour working week plus on call duties
• Provide Specialist Nephrology services including medical assessments on patients with end stage renal failure, supervision of patient care on ESRF programmes, and assessment and management of patients with kidney diseases.
• Perform renal biopsy and tunnelled dialysis line insertion
• Excellent remuneration package with visa and relocation package
• RACP accredited department

The main hospital is a 260 bed secondary general hospital with a full range of medical and surgical services including a 24/7 emergency department. It supports three small satellite hospitals across the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand.

The area of Northland is a forested, subtropical region on New Zealand's North Island, framed by the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea. A subtropical wonderland of islands, marine life, kauri forests and Māori myths and legends, Northland is an incredible place to live.

Requirements:

• FRACP or an equivalent qualification
• Expertise in nephrology
• Eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in Internal Medicine as primary specialty with nephrology as a subspecialty

Remuneration:

1. Salary paid in accordance with national pay scales for senior medical officers (NZ$ 190,000 - 270,000 pa), basic 40 hour week
2. Additional allowances for on call duties

6. Reimbursement of costs of obtaining medical licence and APC
