New Zealand Government is seeking qualified Specialist Anaesthetists to join the team at Gisborne Hospital. You will work closely with the Head of Department to deliver high-quality services in a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• MCNZ vocational registration in the Scope of Practice of Anaesthesia.
• Overseas trained Anaesthetists eligible for MCNZ Provisional Vocational registration considered.
• Experience delivering healthcare within a culturally safe framework.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-op anaesthesia clinic.
• Provide anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgery.
• Manage post-op patients in ICU/HDU and wards.
• Prepare critically ill patients for transfer.
• Advise on pain management and conduct out-of-hours services.
• Contribute to teaching junior doctors.

Medical Council of New Zealand registration

Experience in paediatric anaesthesia

Critical care experience

Cultural safety in healthcare

Education

Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)
