Job summary

Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand in Whangārei is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the community team. You will support patients at home with equipment, modifications and rehabilitation to maximise independence, safety and wellbeing.

The role works closely with multi-disciplinary health teams and drivers to deliver patient-centred care across Northland communities.

Qualifications

• Current registration and annual practicing certificate.
• Full New Zealand driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience working with older adults and in a team environment.
• Sound clinical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with patient and whānau from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Work in the community to support patients with equipment, home modifications and rehab solutions to maximise independence, safety and wellbeing at home.
• Collaborate with other community disciplines (e.g., Physiotherapists, Speech-language Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Allied Health Assistants).
• Contribute to better patient outcomes by applying holistic, culturally responsive care.
