Job summary

Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) is seeking an experienced Registered Community Mental Health Nurse to join the Hutt North team in Upper Hutt. You will work with tāngata whaiora and whānau in the community, providing assessment, care planning and evidence-based interventions in a supportive, culturally responsive setting.

You will be part of a team focused on recovery, equity, and timely access to services, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvement and service development.

Qualifications

• Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
• Postgraduate mental health qualification.
• At least 3 years' mental health experience (preferably in community mental health/addiction).
• Strong clinical assessment, therapeutic and communication skills.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural safety and equitable outcomes for Māori and whānau.
• Recovery-focused, collaborative approach.
• Commitment to professional development and reflective practice.
• Full New Zealand driver licence.
• Ability to complete and consent to Police Vetting and Misconduct Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, clinical interventions and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with tāngata whaiora, whānau and other services to promote recovery and wellbeing.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety while developing own clinical practice.
