Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Christchurch is seeking an experienced mental health nurse to join the Community Intensive Pathway team. This permanent full-time role (0.94FTE) involves a 4 on, 2 off roster with morning or afternoon shifts and home-based follow-up in the community.

The successful candidate will be registered with the Nursing Council of NZ, hold APC, have adult mental health experience and be able to work independently within a small team while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate (APC).
• Hold a current full driver's licence, valid for use in New Zealand.
• Experience working in adult mental health.
• Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) or be prepared to train as a DAO and maintain DAO status.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based mental health nursing with independence for home visits when safe.
• Collaborate within a small, multidisciplinary team to share workload and decisions.
• Deliver intensive, recovery-focused care in the community with consumers and whānau.
• Communicate effectively with consumers, families, colleagues, health providers and agencies.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, drive, passion and initiative.
