Job summary

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in Wellington is seeking a Communications Manager for the Pacific Island Forum hosting year. You will develop and deliver an integrated communications, media, branding and stakeholder engagement strategy to support NZ’s hosting objectives.

Work closely with government colleagues, Māori partners, regional stakeholders and suppliers to ensure clear, culturally appropriate communications across all phases of planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading communications planning and delivery in high-pressure environments.
• Proven ability to coordinate communications across multiple agencies and stakeholders.
• Strong writing, editing and content development skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead implementation of the PIF Leaders Meeting Communications Strategy and Plan.
• Ensure communications align with programme outcomes and government priorities.
• Provide expert strategic communications advice to leadership and officials.
• Lead planning and delivery for ministerial and officials' meetings and events.
• Oversee summit media operations, accreditation, and media centre arrangements.
