Job description

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital or Kenepuru Hospital Contract: Permanent Part-time (0.6 FTE)

About the Role

We are looking for a Clinical Typist who is experienced in transcription work, possess a high standard of written English, and has a positive, can-do attitude. The clinical typist will provide a vital service to patients, families/whānau and health professionals. Your high level of attention to detail will ensure the accurate and timely transformation of incoming dictation from clinical areas into formal letters, so that information is available to others involved in a patient's care, when it is needed. The Clinical Typist role requires you to deliver accurate and timely transcription services to clinicians, as well as managing the processing of transcribed clinical documents on a daily basis.

Some of your duties will include:
  • Transcribing dictations from clinicians
  • Managing the processing of clinical documents
  • Communicating with staff both clinical and non-clinical
  • Other general administration duties

This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week over four days.

The salary range for this role is $67,943 to $77,141 (pro rata).

About the Team

You will be part of a large group of clinical typists who are highly specialized in transcription work. The team provides transcription services to clinical staff across the DHB, delivering high quality, accurate work with timely turnaround.

The Patient Administration Service (PAS) is a group of five services which work together to support the patient journey from referral to a CCDHB treatment provider, right through to discharge.

PAS goals are to provide high quality, efficient and effective administration support to enable clinical staff to concentrate on patient care.

About you

You will be a highly experienced typist/transcriptionist with an excellent command of English and a positive attitude.
