Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Co-ordinator for the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Unit. The role supports Phase 1–3 cancer trials, coordinating study activities, patient eligibility, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in a hospital/healthcare setting, a relevant tertiary qualification, strong MS Office and database skills, and a proactive, detail-focused mindset.

  • Maintain trial documentation and regulatory compliance (GCP/ICH).

About the Role

Are you interested in science, global changes in cancer treatments, and the future of cancer services? If so, these opportunities in our Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Unit will be of interest to you! We carry out Phase 1-3 trials and studies on behalf of our sponsors to provide patients with options for treatment to consider where they meet the selection criteria.

We are looking for a full-time Clinical Research Co-ordinator. Our usual hours of work are 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday, although there may be a need for work outside of these hours to meet project requirements.

The salary band for this role is $76,705 - $84,754, depending on experience.

About the Team/Service/Location

You'll be working in a multi-disciplinary environment, working with professionals across a wide range of services in the medical, pharmaceutical and laboratory areas, including Trial Sponsors and their representatives. You'll receive training for each clinical trial, and there's scope for learning new skills and gaining qualifications.

About You

You'll be a confident Clinical Research Co-ordinator, who is ready to take on the responsibility for new and current clinical trials. You enjoy working independently providing and seizing the opportunity to be proactive or resolve challenges along the way.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Minimum 3 years working within a hospital or healthcare environment, ideally with knowledge and experience in Medical Oncology, Haematology or Radiation Therapy.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • Strong interpersonal skills including being a team player
  • Organised, with a high attention to detail
  • Confident and proficient in MS Office applications and database management
  • Previous experience in clinical trial documentation and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is desirable
