Job summary

The Climate Change Commission in Wellington is seeking an Advisor, Communications and Engagement to support end-to-end engagement and communications across our work programme under the Climate Change Response Act. The role covers engagement advice, planning, content development and delivery of engagement activities for multiple projects.

Qualifications

At least one year of experience in communications, engagement or media.
A relevant tertiary qualification is required.
Experience with climate change issues, science communication or journalism is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Strengthen the Commission’s key relationships, support evidence gathering and share our work.
Communicate complex information clearly and adapt content to audience needs.
Develop and deliver engagement and communications plans with an audience-focused approach.
Prepare key messages, talking points, media releases, presentations and webinars for projects.
Support collaboration and inclusiveness across the team and organisation.
Embed te ao Māori (te reo Māori, tikanga, kawa, Te Tiriti o Waitangi) into ways of working.
