Job summary

Alignz Recruitment in East Tamaki is seeking an experienced Class 4 HIAB Truck Driver to join a busy transport operation. You will drive, load timber and building materials, and ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time.

The role requires a current Class 4 NZ Driver Licence, HIAB/crane operating experience, and a practical, hands-on approach. Morning shifts and room to progress within the team are on offer.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Class 4 HIAB truck driving and deliveries.
• Transport timber and building materials to sites.
• Load and unload goods safely using the HIAB.
• Secure and check loads before transport.
• Assist with general yard/loading duties when required.
• Ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
• Maintain vehicle and report issues.
• Follow health & safety and site procedures.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, is confident operating a HIAB/crane, and has experience transporting and handling timber or similar building materials.

Class 4 HIAB Truck Driver – East Tamaki

$30–$35 per hour

The Role

• Class 4 HIAB truck driving and deliveries

• Transporting timber and building materials to various sites

• Loading and unloading goods safely using the HIAB

• Securing and checking loads before transport

• Assisting with general yard and loading duties when required

• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time

• Maintaining the vehicle and reporting any issues

• Following all health & safety and site procedures

What We're Looking For

• Current Class 4 NZ Driver Licence

• Proven HIAB/crane operating experience

• Experience transporting timber, building materials or similar goods is preferred

• Good understanding of load security and safe lifting practices

• Physically fit and comfortable with hands‑on work

• Reliable, punctual and professional

• Good communication skills

• Strong health & safety awareness

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

What's On Offer

• $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience

• East Tamaki based

• Morning shifts – approximately 6:00am to 4:00pm

• Potential for longer hours depending on workload

• Monday to Friday, with hours based on business requirements

• Casual work to start, with potential to progress into a Temp-to-Permanent position for the right person
