Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Blenheim is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. You will undertake a range of carpentry tasks on our building projects, including measuring, cutting, framing and installing timber components under supervision.

This full-time role requires basic carpentry knowledge, safe work practices, and a willingness to learn. A NZ driving licence and own transport are advantageous but not mandatory.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Apprentice Carpenter to join our team based in Blenheim. The successful applicant will carry out a range of carpentry and building-related tasks on the projects.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to

• Measure, mark, cut and assemble timber and other building materials.
• Carry out framing, flooring, roofing, cladding, doors, windows and other carpentry work.
• Install and repair timber structures, fixtures and fittings.
• Use hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely and correctly.
• Carry out maintenance, repairs and alterations as required.
• Check completed work to ensure it meets required quality and buildingstandards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Work effectively as part of a team and complete tasks within agreed timeframes.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Good knowledge of carpentry tools, materials and construction methods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to undertake the requirements of the role.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Having Own vehicle/own carpentry tools and NZ full driving Licence is advantageous but not mandatory.

This is a full-time permanent position with a minimum of 40 hours and maximum 50 per week and the pay-rate for this position will be 27.00 NZD per hour.
